Co-Founders Rena Paul and Margaret Gandy Present at the National Association for Independent School’s Las Vegas Conference

On February 23, 2023, Alcalaw co-founders Rena Paul and Margaret Gandy, together with Rahel Bayar and Chia-Chee Chiu, Head of Middle School at The St. John’s School presented “Trauma-Informed Risk Management: Harm Reduction Strategies for Navigating Student-on-Student Misconduct Claims” at the NAIS conference in Las Vegas.

The workshop was designed to provide school administrators with a roadmap for implementing trauma-informed, harm reduction strategies for responding to student-on-student misconduct claims. Participants were given a roadmap to follow should they need to respond to such a claim, and the benefits of a trauma-informed response were discussed.
